This is Jane, a stately buffet newly redone in CeCe Caldwell's Vermont Slate with clear and dark wax. No distressing. Jane is not distressed... she is serene... and a bit playful with her fresh white hardware.
I'll post her glamour shots when she gives me the word that she's ready:) Jane doesn't like to be rushed.
I was wondering if it was difficult to get this color to look black? your dresser is beautiful and I really would like to mimic it. Any help would be great! Do you have a complete pic of your piece yet

Shelton, Hi. Thanks! I really liked how the Vermont Slate complimented this piece. It isn't quite black. I did use Dark Aging Wax on it (over the Clear Wax), which darkens it and adds some depth. You might experiment with using Dark Aging Wax straight over the Vermont Slate (skipping the Clear Wax)to see how dark you can get it. I always recommend doing a sample board first to see if it gives the color you are looking for. I will post a full photo of Jane. Good luck with your project!
